StitchFix Review #2

A few months ago, I found out about Stitch Fix--a company that uses your style profile that you fill out (and your Pinterest style boards if you include them!) to personally pick out 5 clothing/accessory items for you and mail to your house. You get three days after receiving the box to try on the items with things you already have at home, decide if you want to keep any of them, pay for what you want, and send the rest back! It's quick, it's convenient, and you get cute clothes to try on! In the box, they send you a note from your stylist with suggestions and a picture card of each piece of clothing styled 2 different ways to give you some ideas. There is a $20 styling fee to get a box sent to you, but you can use that $20 toward purchasing an item in your box. If you decide to keep everything in the box, you get a 25% discount! Another perk is that you get a personalized referral link, and if your friends use it to buy their first box, you get $25 credit to your account! Sweet! If you missed out on my post about my first box, click here.

This month, I told Heather, my awesome stylist, to send me some things I could use for my Alaskan cruise in July. I wanted to start stocking up and wasn't really finding anything in my closet already that I felt was Alaska-worthy. She did not disappoint! Take a look at Box #2 and read onto enter my first ever blog GIVEAWAY!

NUMBER 1:

1. Papermoon Alexus Dress - $68 (couldn't find online)

I was sent this dress in navy last time, and I didn't keep it because it was the same style as an Anthropologie dress I have. I loved this one though because it had an added detail of a gold zipper down the back and everyone needs a staple, little black dress in their closet, right?? (*Cue Sarah Bareilles*) It was super easy to dress up for a night out with some sparkly heels and bling and also to dress "down" with flats and a work-appropriate sweater. The fabric is light and airy and I love the modest length! I had a little trouble hiding my bra straps because of the angled cut at the front of the sleeves, but I just made sure they were black, and they kept pretty hidden. This dress came just in time for my 3 year dating anniversary and I wore it on our date after work! KEEP

P.S. Did you notice my arm-knitted scarf in that one picture?? Yep, I made that; I'm so cool. ;)
P.P.S. Did you notice my cute puppy that likes my dress too? Or perhaps she's just a camera ham.

Number 2:

2. Green Pink Martini Augustina Lace Back Open Cardigan - $68 (couldn't find online)

When I opened my box, the first thing I saw was green lace. I think I may have let out a delighted gasp as I pulled it out of the box. You know me, give me some lace, and I'm a happy camper. I loved how bright the green was. I loved how it looked with so many outfits. I didn't love the gathers on the sides because it felt like it hung on me funny, but it didn't look bad, so I was okay with that. The material was a little course, so I was worried it would be itchy, but it wasn't. And oh, that lace on the back! Divine!!! KEEP

Number 3:

3. Navy Mavi Freida Regular Length Skinny Jean - $98 (similar Nordstrom Jeans, $148)

After a depressing week of my jeans not fitting and coming to terms with the fact that the newlywed 15 is a real thing (even if I am only at 9), I decided I needed to buy some pricey jeans that fit and looked better. I was so glad Heather sent me some skinny jeans! The price was what I expected, even if I've never paid more than $20 on jeans before now. My favorite part about these is that the fabric was stretchy. I could fit into it easily and knew I would be able to whether I gained or lost some weight. These jeans looked great with a crop top or with a flowy, butt-covering number. And they're dark so I can wear them to work! Only downside is how quickly they seemed to attract Gipper's white fur. :-P KEEP

Number 4:

4. Off-White 41Hawthorn McAdams Beaded Neckline Blouse - $68 (couldn't find online)

Flowy, airy tops are my thing. I love that they don't show off those extra 9 new wife pounds (ugh!), and they look nice for work. This top is made out of the same fabric as my black, 41Hawthorn Filbert Popover Sleeve Blouse that I got last time. The fabric wrinkles easily if you don't hang it up right out of the dryer and it mades me sweat. (You are just learning all sorts of weird things about me in this post, aren't you?) Luckily, this one is sleeveless. The bead detail is fun. The pink was a little too hot pink for my taste, but it's still fun. KEEP

Number 5:

5. Coral Octavia Henry Birds on Branch Infinity Scarf - $28 (couldn't find online)

I loved this scarf. The color is so bright and fun, and the birds are the sweetest. This look can be pulled off with many things, and the fabric is very light--perfect for springtime! Now, you're going to love me because I'm going to be giving away this adorable scarf to one of my lucky blog followers! Whoohoo! Just fill out the form below and you could be a winner!

To sum it up, I bought the whole box, and it was so worth it. I got 25% off and saved $75. I also had some credit to use because someone signed up with my link and ordered their first box! Yay! I love love love Stitch Fix, and I'm really glad that I started ordering.
