Homemade Sandwich Bread

We've all been there. It's the end of the month, you've pretty much used your grocery budget, and you're running low on bread, which can get you through the last minute, easy meals you need for breakfast, lunch, and sometimes dinner. This is when I hop on Pinterest to find an easy bread recipe to make my own.

Bread is something that seems intimidating, but really shouldn't be. Especially if you have a KitchenAid that can mix it for you. (I shied away from it more in past days when I had to stir it by hand and get an arm workout in the process.) I usually have the ingredients I need on hand in the pantry anyway, and in a pinch, you can also let the dough rise in the fridge if you don't have time to wait for it to rise in an hour. I often make the dough the day before, stick it in the fridge overnight, and then finish it the next day. Homemade bread is not only super delicious, but it's free of all the processed ingredients that make store bought bread last for weeks without getting moldy. Does that part of store bought bread make anyone else a little nervous?? :-P 

I love the new feature on Pinterest that lets people say if they've tried a pin and comment on how it went. That's how I decided to try this particular recipe--the Pinterest attempters had good success, and there were some comments about doing half wheat flour that worked out great for them. I always prefer to make wheat bread, but it can get a little dense after baking, so doing half white and half wheat is a good way to go.
