It was our turn to host small group, and Reagan and I were on a clean eating cleanse. I was trying to think of something sweet I could make, and remembered dates can be used for a clean eating sweet treat. After perusing Pinterest for some ideas, I found this recipe for caramel apple dip without sugar on Sublime Reflection.
It was a HUGE hit, and so easy! The only thing about this recipe is that you need to soak the dates ahead of time. That's something easy to do though because the soaking makes the dates softer and easier to blend. They're great to have on hand to through in breakfast smoothies too!
1 cup dates, (soaked for at least 4 hours and drained)
3 TB raw honey
2 TB almond butter
2 TB coconut oil
1/2 tsp sea salt
1 tsp vanilla
After soaking and draining the dates, put all ingredients in the blender and blend till smooth. Chop up some apples or other fruits and dip to your heart's content! For a thicker dip, put in the fridge before serving.
I was just given a new recipe from that adds Cassia essential oil to this dip. YUMMY!!!
